Katsina CWC: A Significant milestone -Senator Abdul’aziz Yar’adua

Senator Abdul’aziz Musa Yar’adua of Katsina Central Senatorial District has described the establishment and the passing out of the State Community Watch Corps as a significant milestone towards tackling the scourge of banditry and terrorism in the state and the country at large.

The Senator made this known in his goodwill message on the occasion of the launch of the Katsina State Community Security Watch Corps by the State Governor Malam Dikko Umar Radda held at Muhammadu Dikko Stadium Katsina.

The Senator who is also the Chairman Senate Committee on Army said local security initiatives complement the efforts of national security agencies and provide a more comprehensive approach towards maintaining peace and stability.

Some of the advantages of local security according to the Senator includes familiarity with the terrain, community engagement and trust, quick response and effective enforcement, timely gathering of intelligence and a tailored approach to local challenges.

The Senator however applauded the efforts of Governor Dikko Radda for his visionary leadership in adopting the Borno State Joint Task Force initiative and establishing the State Community Watch Corps.

The Mutawallen Katsina pointed out that the establishment of the Community Watch Corps enhances not only the security apparatus but also serves as a means of empowering the youth and people, and on the other hand provides immediate employment opportunities for indigenes and residents.

“I must also acknowledge the commendable efforts of our State House of Assembly in the seamless creation of the Community Watch Corps. The synergy and cooperation between the legislative and executive arms in this endeavour are loudable, especially during these challenging times that require collaboration between the branches of government.”

While congratulating the officers of the State Community Watch Corps, he charged them to execute their responsibilities with utmost good faith, passion, deligence and unwavering commitment to the welfare and security of the state and the nation at large.

” As Senator representing Katsina Central Senatorial District and Head of Senate Committee on the Nigerian Army, I pledged my unwavering commitment to supporting and assisting in the fight against insecurity in the state and the country. I stand with you as an indigene of this great state and a concerned Nigerian citizen. Together we can overcome these challenges and restore peace, order and prosperity to all corners and people of the State.

The Senator also urged people of the State to be petient and cooperate by suppoting the efforts being made by the government.

He therefore advised people to remain hopeful, united and determined in resolving to create a better and safer Katsina State now and for the future generations.
